Virginia Satir (1916-1988)

Virginia SatirVirginia Satir established an international reputation in the practice of family therapy. Based on the belief that people are capable of continuing growth, change and new understanding of life, she worked to improve relationships and communication within the family system. She was not only a great therapist, but also an educator and a writer.

Referred to as the Mother of Family Therapy, Columbus of Family Therapy and Everybodys Family Therapist, Virginia Satir stayed at the forefront of human growth and family therapy until her death in 1988.
